Know when your Mac goes offline, and when it's back.
A Mac that has lost its internet connection cannot send its own alert. NetCheck Relay works the other way round: your Mac checks in with our server, and when the check-ins stop, the server alerts your iPhone or iPad. It is the companion app to NetCheck for Mac.
A notification names the Mac and tells you it has stopped responding. Alerts are sent as time-sensitive notifications.
A second notification tells you your Mac is online again, and how long it was down.
Each paired Mac shows as Online, Dropped offline, or Asleep or shut down. A Mac you put to sleep or shut down on purpose is not reported as an outage.
The Notifications tab keeps the alerts you were sent, each with its date and time.
Open Heartbeat Relay in NetCheck on your Mac and choose Pair a Phone. Your Mac shows a code.
Point the camera at the code on your Mac.
If you would rather not use the camera, type the six digits shown under the code.
Your Mac is paired as soon as the code is accepted.

Your Mac does the checking in. NetCheck Relay delivers the alert.
